records sounds in the Kilminorth Woods. This trip uncovered pieces of
rusted farm building, corrugated metal and old farm machinery. All of
these finds are valuable to a sound recordist. While playing Barrow Hill,
listen out for knocks, thumps and metallic clanks. You may, in fact, be
hearing one of our finds being hit with a stick!! |

Boakes records the sounds generated by a rookery. These ominous locations
are the treetops colonised by Rooks (large crow like birds), which feature
twiggy nests and an almost constant soundtrack of 'caws' and croaks. The
aim, in this instance, was to capture the sound of birds wings, startled
into flight. |
