'The
Hurlers' stone circle, on the misty Bodmin Moor. This desolate area of
Cornwall is home to many of the counties prized ancient sites. "The
name The Hurlers refers to an old tradition that the circles are men or
women turned to stone. According to another legend, it is difficult to
count the number of the Hurlers at Minions, but should you do so correctly,
a misfortune will befall you" from: www.stonepages.com |

This
country lane is typical of Cornwall, if a little flat. This single lane
track was used when filming the car sequences for Barrow Hill. The bright
green leaves are typical of May, and suggest a very leafy Summer is about
to follow. To the right-hand side of this image the bank falls away alarmingly
towards a deep river, our stunt driver (Christopher Marsh) was fully aware of the danger. |

While
making Barrow Hill, Matt spent many mornings exploring the wide and lonely
farmlands of Cornwall. The above photograph shows the farmed fields around
Duloe, in the Spring. The quiet atmosphere is perfect for recording soundscapes,
and the soft light is ideal for capturing photographic textures. |
